Melinda Roodt is an enthusiastic writer, pastor, artist, chef and loving mom. She has been in ministry alongside her husband for the past 34 years. Together they have taken on the various adventures and endeavours life has had to offer. Melinda is a mother to three children and grandmother to three grandchildren. 

Besides being a pastor and mother, she is also a provident home-cook and writer. In 2016 she released her self-made cookbook, The Classic South African Cookbook. The heart behind this project was to provide the people of our nation with an all-in-one book on how to cook and create healthy, hearty South African cuisine at home. Breakfasts, handmade pastas, your ouma’s bredie, bread, rusks, name it! During this time of producing this masterpiece, she hosted Weekend Masterclasses at home for young woman to learn how to cook healthy, authentic food for their families. 

Furthermore, Melinda has been supporting her husband in building the church that God told them to build. Both spiritually and physically, they have been sowing into this for the last 23 years. Their story has been one of many struggles, but even more testimonies of Jesus’ faithfulness through all the seasons of life. 

In 2019 Melinda started diving into essential oils and skincare products. Inspired by the raw plants and oils used for skincare in Biblical times, she soon realised the need for 100% natural and organic products in our modern day society. In 2020 she sourced a company that would formulate and manufacture her natural face and body range. She soon started selling to friends and family, to test her natural products on different skin types. After lots of fine planning, research and many constant improvement, Origin Living was finally lauched in August 2024.
